| Tibetan Sound Healing Ceremony Mantras heal, protect, purify, and transform |
Lama Lobsang Palden
The use of Tibetan instruments and prayers for healing will deeply imbue you with the resonant medicine of Tibetan healing sounds in a prayerful ceremony. Lama Lobsang creates a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist altar with traditional offerings. Breathing exercises work to wake up the energy of your body. The ancient sounds of chakra mantras and five-element mantras expand your consciousness and increase awareness. The medicine Buddha mantra generates healing while other mantras are recited for protection, purification, and peace. A period of silent meditation induces deep relaxation. Experience vibrational healing with mantras, singing bowls, drums, bells, gongs, cymbals, horns, tingshas, damaru, and conch shells. A 21-Tara long life prayer and dedication of merit will transform you. This workshop is perfect for healing professionals as well as Tibetan Buddhist practitioners. Bring your own instruments, if you have them, to be blessed in this ceremony and a blanket for comfort. Course 081157 |

| Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting Sumi-e is more than technique, it is a spiritual journey |
| Kay Thomas Sumi-e means black ink painting. Its black ink on white paper is simple, elegant, and serene. The goal of the sumi-e painter is to use the brush with both vitality and restraint. Sumi-e, though is more than technique, it is a spiritual journey. Discover the history of this contemplative art form brought to Japan by Zen monks who practiced sumi-e to develop patience, concentration, and discipline. Use the unique tools known as the Four Treasures on handmade paper as you paint several pictures of classic symbolic nature subjects using the simple brush strokes. Simplicity is the main characteristic you will paint to express the essence of the subject. Less is more. Even a novice can produce a painting to be proud of that demonstrates the style and simplicity of this art form. No previous painting or art experience is needed. Over this three week course, you will deepen your sumi-e painting experience and ability to produce a variety of sumi-e art.
