Path of Zen: A Life that Matters Be the meaning you are searching for
Robert Joshin Althouse Roshi
Zen is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyana meaning meditation. Zen Buddhism focuses on attaining enlightenment through meditation. The path teaches that all human beings have Buddha-nature, or the potential to attain enlightenment, within them, but Buddha-nature has been clouded by ignorance. The Bodhisattva path and the five wisdom energies of enlightenment are at the core of Zen for living a meaningful life. You will receive personal zazen, meditation instruction, appropriate to your level, to practice these three tenets. Establish a strong spiritual foundation through Zen practice. Transform life’s difficulties and disappointments into greater wisdom and compassion. You will have ample time to practice and ask questions to begin walking a path that will bring more meaning to your life.
