Rune casting operates on an ancient form of psychology. Even in Viking times, there was a remarkable understanding of the human psyche. They recognized cause and effect and the interconnectedness of all things. Become familiar with the history and folklore of the runes and the meaning and symbolism behind each one. A rune caster does not see the future but rather examines the cause and effect that points to a likely outcome. It works deeply with your subconscious. The rune pouch, with its runic symbols, represents the entire universe. As you pose a question, your entire conscious and unconscious mind is focused on that question, so that the runes selected are not truly random selections, but choices made by the subconscious. We will practice several rune-casting techniques and then you can begin to read the runes for yourself and others. You can meditate and dream with the runes to deepen your understanding of their mysteries. Connect to the unique archetypal energies of these mythic symbols and apply this sacred knowledge to your everyday life. You may bring your own runes if you have them or make your own set in class.
