Hula: The Sacred Dance
Fun in the spirit of Hawaii

Hula dancing is fun and graceful. It focuses and engages in the culture and spirit of Hawaii. Auana, the modern hula, and Kahiko, the ancient or traditional hula include chanting and usage of dance implements and Hawaiian values. Use basic hand and feet movements of the dance to do a complete dance in honor of Pele, the volcano or fire goddess of Hawaii. You will practice the basic hand and feet movements and start to delve into the ancient dance through the study of Hawaiian values and chants. Wear comfortable clothes. No dance experience necessary.
