Thai massage for the hands, feet, head, neck, and shoulders enables you to focus on parts of the body that are easy to manipulate and access, and are comfortable for the recipient and you. Thai bodywork is practiced fully clothed while on a mat on the floor. Use cream or oil, although most of the time
just use the pressure created by your thumbs, hands, elbows, knees, or feet. Become confident using your whole body to comfortably give firm but gentle pressure. Gain experience to help others relax their body as you find out how to relax yours.
Appreciate the meditative quality of both giving and receiving touch.
Connect to another person and relieve a little bit of stress in this otherwise stressed-out world. Each week will focus on a particular part of the body. There will be time to practice. People with or without massage experience are welcome. Come alone or bring a partner. Six continuing education units available for massage therapists from NCBTMB. Please wear loose-fitting clothes.
